Course Description

Removable partial dentures and complete dentures are still an option for patients who may have limited resources, or there is no better way to aid the patient. This course will review basic information on RPDs, look at each component of the appliance and their function. We will look at how to use implants to stabilize the RPD and make the prosthesis clasp free. There is often confusion on the need for a separate impression for the distal extension case. This is not necessary, and we will review how to do a single impression for the distal extension RPD. We will look at new materials on the market, how effective are they, how do they hold up with time, and how are they constructed. We will review digital imaging for dental implants and the fabrication and printing of surgical guides. The placement of immediate dentures can often be challenging, Dr. Hansen has over thirty years of experience in both the surgery and the placement of conventional immediate dentures.
